Stourbridge Glassblowing Studio offers classes (taster sessions) for adults over 16 years of age.

One to one sessions

  • Full day including equipment hire and hot glass.

Two to one sessions

  • Full day including equipment hire and hot glass.

N.B. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or BACS (no facility for card payment).

The classes are intended as an introduction to glass-making. Covering both blown glass – Vessels, and solid-formed glass – Paperweights. The classes will be informative and hands-on in a friendly/relaxed way. Each student will keep all pieces which they make on the day.

The classes are being held in the Stourbridge Glassblowing Studio, situated within the Ruskin Glass Centre, Wollaston Road, Stourbridge. DY8 4HF. and will run from 9.30am – 4.30pm including a 1 hour break for lunch.

Glass-blowing is physically demanding and working with hot glass (in excess of 1100˚C) is potentially dangerous. This said, Health and Safety is vitally important and will be explained along with the use of tools and equipment. If you have a disability or medical condition which may limit your capacity to participate, please discuss this with us before you book. We reserve the right to advise you not to take part in the session if we feel it may compromise yourself or others safety.
